Following the successful traditional of this cycle, the foreign and Slovak conductors Ernst Theis, Martin Studer-Müller, Michel Tabachnik, Rastislav Štúr, Vladimír Válek and Oliver Dohnányi continue their co-operation also during this season. In Cycle C two Czech artists making their debut on the philharmonic stage are introduced: bassoonist Milan Muzikář and violinist Martin Válek. After extraordinary success, the pianist Jakub Čižmarovič once again performs. There will be no lack of performances by established Slovak and Czech vocal soloists. A new addition to the cycle is the performance by the guest orchestra, the Slovak Sinfonietta with its Chief Conductor Oliver Dohnányi. This cycle is intended not only to introduce the public to popular works from the Classical-Romantic repertoire, but also to the less known compositions of Johann Nepomuk Hummel, Hector Berlioz and Georges Bizet. The great romantic symphonies of Gustav Mahler, which are always powerful artistic experiences, have not been forgotten.
