| The chamber cycle of Ancient Music is traditionally distinguished by specific programs which are thematically orientated at the repertoire of the 17th and 18th century with the accent on important composer`s anniversaries and specific musical periods of different countries. The concert Hommage à Boccherini pays tribute to the 200th year of death of the Italian composer and double bass player Luigi Boccherini (1805). Following the exceptionally well- received Bach project presented in November last year, another concert under the name Bach evening II has been prepared, this time enriched with a composition by Bachs son, Wilhelm Friedemann. The German-Italian program is performed in the January concert, where the Slovak organist Marianna Gazdíková will make her debut. The famous cantatas BWV 211 and 212 by Johann Sebastian Bach, will be performed during the carnival season. The cycle is concluded with the Easter concert, based on works by French composers. Significant local and foreign artists (the Austrian alto Markus Förster, the Italian mezzosoprano Gloria Banditelli etc.) will co-operate with the ensemble Musica Aeterna in the presentation of these concerts. A special addition to this cycle will be a performance by the ensemble Solamente naturali (Artistic Director Miloš Valent).
