Antonín Dvořák Requiem, Op. 89

Antonín Dvořák‘s Requiem, a funeral mass for soloists, choir and orchestra, Op. 89, together with Berlioz’s or Verdi’s Requiem, belongs to the most artistically convincing and warmest romantic compositions of its kind. It is not tied to any specific person or event, but it is an expression of the deep faith of its author, his humility and spirituality.
The son of a choirmaster, the Romanian-born Ion Marin is experienced in opera and orchestral repertoire and, in addition to his concert activities, teaches at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Experienced Czech choirmaster Jaroslav Brych will prepare the choir, alongside which a great Czech and Slovak quartet of singers will perform.
